Dr. Ruggieri, in my opinion, is one of the most unique teachers that I have had the pleasure of learning from.
School is mainly a form of mimicry in that the information that is presented to students is supposed to be recited on testing day and judged on a percentage of right and wrong. She took a different approach and taught her students how to apply what they knew to the real world. That is a strategy and style that is not taught enough in the academia world. Her classes are always engaging and were a pleasure to attend each time. A lot of what she has taught me I use every day in my career and personal life. My favorite quote is, “stress is how you perceive it”. Every day people have stress and how you handle it will determines a lot about your character. Personal health is something that many individuals overlook and being able to control my stress levels is a huge advantage I have in my career. With what she has taught me about nutrition, meditation and overall general health, I have applied that knowledge every day since attending her class. When I look back at my college years, it wasn’t my analytical classes that prepared me for a career in finance but in fact it was 2 classes that I took with Dr. Ruggieri that allowed me learn how to handle situations and increase my productivity. I consider myself very fortunate to have had the opportunity to have been a student of Dr. Ruggieri.
